Glasgow East End Community Carers are looking for an experienced person to work with our support team in providing advocacy support to unpaid carers.
We have a large group of parent carers who have children with autism, and they often have to deal with school head teachers, teachers and other support staff in making sure their child receives the appropriate support in school.
Parents often find it difficult to deal with these situations by themselves and we are looking for someone with advocacy experience to come alongside them and enable them to make their case and get the best possible outcome for their child.
We also work with other carers, some who are older who also need support in dealing with the Health Service, Social Work, Housing Associations etc.
The role will also include working as part of our team in supporting unpaid cares with the challenges of their role in caring for a loved one. This includes information and advice, support with benefits, working with peer support groups, emotional support and training.
If you are passionate about making sure people’s voices are heard we would like to hear from you.
Deadline for applications is 12pm on Wednesday 26th November.
Please send applications to Ruth Forsythe – ruth@eastend-carers.co.uk
