The Hearing Voices Network Dundee is a SCIO which provides a HaVeN for those who hear voices, as well as those in the community who have mental health challenges. The HaVen is a drop-in centre as well as a community café which is based in the Hilltown offering a variety of groups which are run and supported by volunteers.

What we do
The Hearing Voices Network Dundee seeks to inspire hope for Voice-Hearers, their friends & families. We have a drop-in service which is open to all. We offer 1:1 support, advice, volunteering opportunities, befriending, peer2peer, training, group work and have a community café on site. We work closely with other organisations in our community to ensure that we remain up to date and are able provide creative support solutions to our members and the community around us.
Job Summary
We are seeking a Finance Officer to join our team at Hearing Voices Network Dundee. The Finance Officer will play a key role in maintaining the charity’s financial systems, ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting the preparation of management accounts, and contributing to the smooth running of financial operations.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a solid finance background who is looking to use their skills in a meaningful, community-focused role within the third sector.
This is a part time role, 20 hours per week
Requirements:
Ideally, the successful candidate will have:
Essential:
- Relevant financial qualifications.
- Proven experience in a financial role.
- Experience of bookkeeping and financial reporting in a charity or small organisation.
- Working knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of charity finance principles, including restricted funds.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities across multiple projects.
Desirable:
- Experience working in the Scottish charity or third sector.
- Knowledge of OSCR reporting requirements.
- Familiarity with payroll and pension administration.
- Interest in and commitment to the values and mission of Hearing Voice Network Dundee.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records using (e.g., Xero, Sage) accounting software.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, balance sheets, and cashflow forecasts for the Operations Manager and Board.
- Support budget preparation and monitoring across projects and funding streams.
- Reconcile bank accounts, income, and expenditure records.
- Process invoices, payments, and staff/volunteer expense claims.
- Support the preparation of year-end accounts and liaise with external auditors or independent examiners.
- Ensure compliance with OSCR, HMRC, and charity financial regulations.
- Maintain accurate records for restricted/unrestricted funds and grant reporting.
- Assist with VAT, Gift Aid, and payroll reporting where applicable.
- Provide financial information for funding applications and grant reports.
- Work with Operations Manager to monitor budgets and ensure effective use of funds.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of financial systems and controls.
- Ensure finance policies and procedures are up to date.

What you’ll do
As Day Services Manager you will be responsible for leading and managing high quality, therapeutic registered day services and commissioned and non-commissioned community supports for people with dementia, those at greater risk of dementia, and their families, and carers within the area.
You will be responsible for ensuring that services are of the highest quality, meet Alzheimer Scotland’s vision for unique therapeutic, highly person-centred support. There is also the responsibility for ensuring that our commissioned services meet all service level agreement, contract specifications and Alzheimer Scotland’s quality guarantees.
You will have overall day-to-day responsibility for the services within the area and will be responsible for promoting the services with key local stakeholders within Health and Social Care as well as relevant other organisations. As Day Services Manager you will manage the referral and assessment process.
You will work collaboratively with the Head of Services to ensure safe practice and delivery of high-quality, person-centred therapeutic day services, ensuring practice complies with Alzheimer Scotland’s policies. You will be responsible for evidencing, reviewing and continually improving the quality of the services and will proactively participate in internal audit and Care Inspectorate inspections. This will includeevidencing that services meet Alzheimer Scotland’s Quality Guarantees, Scotland’s Health and Social Care standards and other quality frameworks including those of the Care Inspectorate where relevant. This includes ensuring that the activities and supports offered meet the identified personal outcomes of those attending the services.
You will provide strong line management and leadership to your team, through setting clear objectives and outcomes, regular review within Support & Development processes and undertaking appraisals.
What you’ll have
The successful candidate will have experience of managing a team in a social care, health or other similar setting or be able to demonstrate a clear knowledge and understanding of the key principles and good practice of effectively managing and leading a team.
You will have knowledge and understanding of the Health and Social Care Standards and SSSC codes of practice and the Care Inspectorate and their role in registered services.
Understanding and knowledge of dementia, mild cognitive impairment and Brain Health and experience of working with or supporting people living with dementia and their families.
The successful candidate will have a recognised professional qualification in health, social work or related field, to SCQF Level 7 (SVQ 3)
This post requires a full driving licence and access to a car.

About Central Wellbeing SCIO
We are a small mental health and wellbeing charity based in central Falkirk. We run peer support groups for people experiencing poor mental health and those feeling lonely or isolated. All our groups are free and easily accessible. We believe in the power of peer support and the value of lived experience – all of our staff and Trustees have lived experience of poor mental health.
We have nearly 20 volunteers at the moment, supporting our work in different ways - sitting on the Board, helping during groups, baking, assisting with events etc.

About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and organised Volunteer Co-ordinator to lead and grow our volunteer programme. Our groups are community based and the Community Activities Organiser is responsible for the planning and delivery of all activities, ensuring reflective practice through our activity evaluations and feedback from the people we support.
What you’ll have
Successful applicants will have a positive approach to dementia and brain health, with a passion to make a difference. You will have good communication and computer skills, a caring attitude and most of all enthusiasm for the role. You will be confident in planning activities in advance and leading any volunteers supporting at your group.
