A bit about the role
Glasgow Health and Social Care Partnership has an exciting new initiative in the North East of the city, aimed at delivering flexible, strengths-based support to families in need. This innovative service is part of a broader city-wide strategy focused on improving outcomes for children and young people aged 0–12 years. By offering timely, tailored support, the service is designed to help families overcome challenges and create stable, nurturing environments where children can thrive.
The core mission of this service is to promote the wellbeing of children and young people by enabling them to remain safely at home with their families. Whether living with parents, siblings, or, when in the child’s best interest, with extended family members, the goal is to ensure children grow up surrounded by familiar faces, within their own communities, attending local schools and maintaining friendships that are vital to their development.
As a Family Support Practitioner, you’ll be an integral part of a dedicated and compassionate team. Your role will involve working closely with families, building trusting relationships, and advocating for the needs of children and young people. You’ll help identify strengths, navigate challenges, and connect families with the resources they need to succeed. How you'll help to create brighter futures
Some key responsibilities of a Family Support Practitioner role are;
- Effective assessments will be undertaken to identify the needs, strengths and challenges that each family faces, the intensive interventions will involve advice, guidance, parenting support, 1:1 work with children and liaising with partner agencies.
- You'll carry out assessments, intensive planned support and reviews and support families to overcome barriers. Working as part of a fantastic and passionate team, you'll attend meetings and work alongside partner agencies, advocating on behalf of children and families.
- You'll be part of a dynamic multi-disciplinary team, working collaboratively with families to support and enable positive change and to improve outcomes.
Let's talk about you
- SVQ 3 in social care or equivalent.
- Post qualification experience of working with children, young people and families and achieving positive outcomes through direct contribution with support activities and intervention.
- Experience of working with vulnerable families and a broad understanding of their barriers.
- Knowledge and experience of implementing methods of assessment and interventions.
- Able to work flexibly (evenings and weekends)
- Must be competent in report writing and using computer software packages such as Microsoft excel, Microsoft word, teams, and outlook.
- Driving licence and access to a car. The job requires the ability to travel according to the needs of the job, with reasonable adjustments, if required, according to the Equality Act.

Service Administrator - Youthpoint Moray

About Aberlour Youthpoint Moray
Our Youthpoint Moray service provides help to children and young people in Moray who may be struggling with their emotions and behaviour, prompting concerns about their well-being.
Our service provides one-to-one and group work support for children, young people and their families in a safe and relaxed setting. They help them to understand the issues that are affecting them, that can sometimes be the cause of their behaviour. They help them take steps to overcoming their difficulties at home, school and in the community. Aberlour Youthpoint Moray provides three services to young people in Moray; Intensive Community Support (ICS), Early Help and Mentoring and YP Zone.
What we are looking for....
As Service Administrator you will work with the Management team to provide financial administration for the service. You will also be responsible for recording and inputting information into our case management system. You must be able to work with high levels of accuracy and recording and inputting data and in providing regular management information in agreed format and responding to ad hoc requests as required. You will play a key role in supporting the smooth operation of our service ensuring administrative processes run efficiently and effectively.
Your job is also about supporting and working with people. For many of our families, our Service Administrators are their first point of contact - as they are usually there to welcome them into our offices! Our young people look forward to meeting our Service Administrators as they are always greeted with a smile. Our administrators are at times a point of contact for families/partners who are looking for urgent help and must respond in an appropriate, friendly and helpful manner.
The hours of work for this post are 25 hours per week, to be worked Monday – Friday during normal office hours. This role will be office based, in our service in Elgin.
Ideally you will have administrative experience gained through working within a busy office or social care environment. You will be comfortable working with all Microsoft Office packages, including Excel, and be able to create spreadsheets and deal with numerical information. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills. You will have a relevant professional qualification at SCQF level 7 or equivalent experience of working in a busy office.

These services operate from two Glasgow Offices.
What we are looking for....
As the Service Administrator you will work directly to the Service Managers providing comprehensive day to day administrative support for the service. The hours of work for this post are 37.5 hours per week to be worked Monday to Friday 9am -5pm Normal Office Hours. Expected to work the hours across the two Glasgow Offices.
This post is currently funded until the 31st March 2026, however we are actively seeking further funding to allow us to extend this post beyond this date.
You should be organised, used to working in a busy office environment and possess the skills to deliver a full administration service including reception duties, co-ordinating meetings, mail and maintaining manual and electronic storage and retrieval systems. You will also coordinate building and equipment needs as required in consultation with your manager.
An important part of the role is to provide financial administration for the service, supported by the Service Managers. You must be able to work with high levels of accuracy in recording and inputting data and in providing regular management information, in an agreed format and also responding to ad hoc requests as required.
You must have excellent IT skills, and experience of using the range of Microsoft Office tools on a daily basis: Word, Excel, Outlook etc.
You will be proficient in using Microsoft Word such as to enable you to support the production of a range of reports. As you will often be the first point of contact within the
service for a range of social care, education and other professionals you will need to have strong verbal communication skills.

Children First, Scotland’s national children’s charity, is seeking to appoint a marketing officer to support us in the delivery of the Kinship Care Support Service for Scotland.
By joining our team, you will help us make sure that kinship families have all the support they need to keep their children safe, support them to recover from traumatic experiences and to celebrate the very special role that kinship carers play in children’s lives.
The role is an exciting opportunity to grow engagement with our national support line and raise awareness of the ways we can help kinship carers, locally and nationally.
You will play a key role in shaping a multi-channel marketing strategy for the kinship care support service including social media, newsletters and events and execute this. Development of the website and organising events and webinars to support kinship care families and professionals will be your top priority. We would expect the successful candidate to be an experienced marketing professional with a least two years’ experience in a similar role.
