We have an exciting opportunity to join Cornerstone as our new Payroll Officer on a part-time (23.5 hours per week), permanent basis. It's a very exciting time to join our team as we implement our brand new HR & Payroll system.

This role can be based in either our Dundee, Glasgow or Aberdeen office, or part of our hybrid working model. If opting for hybrid, we would need you to live within a reasonable commute of Dundee, Glasgow or Aberdeen. There will be occasions that we'll need you to travel to other Cornerstone branch locations for meetings and training (travel expenses would be reimbursed as set out in Cornerstone’s expense policy with travel reimbursed by HMRC legislation).

The Role

Reporting to our Depute Payroll Lead and working alongside your fellow Payroll Officers, you’ll be involved in the day-to-day activities of our payroll department, ensuring that payments to our colleagues are compliant, accurate and made in a timely manner.

As a main point of contact for our colleague queries, you will use your Payroll expertise to ensure that we deliver a supportive, exceptional service to around 1,800 colleagues across our organisation.

You'll assist in the running of the monthly payroll process to ensure that colleagues are paid on the specified pay date of each month, ensuring that all salary payments are made in line with employment legislation and that deductions are made in line with employment legislation and are recorded and submitted to statutory bodies within timescale.

About You

What we'll need you to bring: -

• A minimum of 2 years' experience of delivering a comprehensive and compliant payroll and pension service (including pension auto-enrolement and RTI)
• Degree or CIPP/IPPM equivalent qualification or extensive experience in a comparable role
• Excellent customer service skills
• Great communication skills (written and verbal)
• The ability to independantly problem solve to a successful conclusion
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan and organise your workload to meet tight deadlines
• A proven track record of using Microsoft Office packages, including Excel, Word and Powerpoint
• The ability to manage data, create reports and present information clearly and effectively

You’ll play a key role in supporting our colleagues to understand behaviour as communication, develop proactive support strategies and promote meaningful quality of life outcomes for the people we support.

The Role

Working as part of our Continuous Improvement and Learning Team and in close collaboration with the people we support, their families and representatives, external health professionals, operational colleagues and our Training Academy, you will play a key role in promoting and implementing person centred Positive Behaviour Support strategies.

As a PBS Coach Practitioner, you’ll: -

• Work collaboratively with individuals, families, their representatives, colleagues and other health professionals to develop and implement person centred support and PBS plans.
• Coach and mentor colleagues to use evidence based positive approaches in everyday practice.
• Use data and reflective practice to inform ongoing continual improvement and support.
• Champion our commitment to equality, inclusion, dignity and respect in all aspects of care and support.
• Focus on understanding and meeting the unique needs of each individual, supporting teams to develop practical, compassionate approaches that enhance quality of life without unnecessary restrictions.
• Use coaching, and reflective practice, to help colleagues deepen their understanding of behavioural support and restrictive practices, the reasons behind it and how we can best support individuals to achieve the best possible outcomes.

What we'll need you to bring: -

• A recognised qualification in Positive Behavior Support and in health and social care with a minimum of 2 years direct support experience in learning disabilities, autism, neurodiversity, safeguarding and rights-based practices.
• Strong knowledge of the health and social care standards and legislation.
• Proven experience in developing, implementing and evaluating PBS strategies based on individual needs.
• A strong understanding of person-centred approaches and evidence-based practice.
• Excellent communication and coaching skills with the ability to engage, motivate and empower teams.
• A commitment to promoting positive outcomes and improving quality of life for the people we support.
• Confidence in delivering training and facilitating reflective practice sessions.
• The ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• A proactive, solution focussed mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and use data to monitor progress, evaluate outcomes and inform practice improvements.
• Flexibility to travel across Scotland as required.
• A full driving license and access to your own vehicle.

Location

This role can be based in any of our offices across Scotland (Elgin, Peterhead, Aberdeen, Dundee, Glasgow, Airdrie, Irvine, Dumbarton or Galashiels) or part of our hybrid working model where you’d work a minimum of 2 days in the office, so we will need you to live within a reasonable commute of one of these locations.
