Role

GEMAP seeks an experienced Money Advice Worker to support clients to maximise incomes, reduce household costs and cope with unmanageable debt.

You should be conversant with all relevant legislation and practice in the fields of Money Advice and Welfare Rights and understand the principles of Financial Capability.

The postholder will have excellent knowledge of all state benefits, tax credits and grants available to maximise incomes, this includes assessment of entitlement, assistance to make relevant applications, an understanding of the reconsideration and appeal processes.

You will know about the Scottish National Standards for Information and advice and be capable of managing a significant caseload in line with the standards.

GEMAP, as an agency, always looks at the person and not the problem; therefore, you should be client-focused in your outlook and experience.

You will be driven and passionate, have excellent teamwork, communication and organisational skills, and be computer literate with a commitment to continuous improvement and a commitment to equality and diversity.
