The Entrepreneurs Pathways Lab is a new incubator for Scotland’s most excluded entrepreneurs, particularly women from ethnic minority and migrant backgrounds. The Lab will deliver hands-on, culturally competent support including training, mentorship, and incubation to help participants start, register, and grow their businesses – with a strong focus on online commerce and sustainability.
About the Role
Together Reaching Higher (TRH) is seeking two experienced Business Advisers to provide one-to-one guidance and group support for early-stage entrepreneurs. You will play a central role in helping participants set up and grow their businesses, from registration and compliance through to online trading, crowdfunding, and sustainability planning.
Working as part of a small, passionate team, you will co-deliver enterprise training, workshops, and 1:1 sessions, while supporting participants to overcome barriers and realise their entrepreneurial potential. This is a unique opportunity to help shape Scotland’s first community-led Entrepreneur Pathways Lab, with a focus on empowering women, New Scots, refugees, and ethnic minority entrepreneurs.
Key Responsibilities
Business Support
- Provide tailored 1:1 and group advice on business registration, governance, and compliance.
- Support participants in setting up online businesses (e.g. Shopify, Etsy, TikTok, Instagram).
- Deliver practical training on business planning, finance, and digital tools.
- Guide entrepreneurs through pilot testing, customer feedback, and scaling strategies.
Programme Delivery
- Co-deliver the Enterprise Bootcamp (covering business structures, branding, financial literacy, and online sales).
- Provide 1:1 advisory sessions during the GrowLab Incubator stage.
- Support participants to prepare for crowdfunding, grant applications, and sustainability planning.
Community & Ecosystem Engagement
- Work closely with ethnic minority communities, particularly women, to ensure access and inclusion.
- Liaise with ecosystem partners (e.g. Business Gateway, CEMVO, Just Enterprise, GESN).
- Help connect participants to wider business networks and funding opportunities.
Monitoring & Reporting
- Track participant progress through Individual Growth Plans (IGPs).
- Contribute to monitoring, evaluation, and reporting for funders.
Person Specification
We are looking for dynamic, committed individuals with:
- Proven experience in business advising, enterprise training, or SME support.
- Strong knowledge of UK business registration and compliance requirements.
- Experience supporting online business development (e-commerce, social selling, digital tools).
- Excellent communication, mentoring, and intercultural skills.
- A commitment to inclusion and understanding of barriers faced by New Scots and ethnic minority entrepreneurs.
- Experience delivering both workshops and one-to-one support.

Hope for Rural People (HfRP) is a small, volunteer-led charitable organization committed to improving the lives of vulnerable and marginalized communities in rural areas of Scotland and Bangladesh. Our work focuses on food aid, education, refugee support, sustainable agriculture, and women’s empowerment.
We are seeking dedicated and passionate Trustees to join our Board and help shape the future of HfRP. This is a wonderful opportunity for individuals who want to make a real difference by contributing their time, expertise, and strategic insight to a growing organization.

You’ll be the connective tissue between our mission and our markets — growing income streams that fuel direct social impact: more school resources in more hands, more murals on more walls, more communities equipped to tell their own stories.
What you’ll do (the fun stuff)
- Grow our income streams
- Shop: Drive sales, secure museum/boutique stockists, and help onboard new merchandise.
- eCommerce: Drive online sales through targeted ads, search engine optimisations, increasing the sales platforms we’re on, and making our customer journey sing.
- Commissions: Nurture leads for murals/creative commissions with corporate sponsors, third sector partners, and local authorities.
- Events/Tours/Consultation: Working with our Director, you’ll package and sell our ‘Suffragette Stall’, walking tours, and research/engagement consultancy.
- Patreon: Help design tiers and campaigns that turn supporters into subscribers, and grow our community of supporters.
- Workshops: Promote and convert enquiries for creative, Wikipedia, and women’s empowerment workshops in community groups, third sector organisations, and educational institutions (HEIs/ FEs).

You will lead on impactful projects that drive enhancement and positive change across the college sector. Your proven skills in project management and collaboration will bring people together to deliver results and support quality enhancement.
As a CDN Delivery and Engagement Partner, you will be committed to creating safe, supportive, and empowering learning environments. You will design and deliver engaging programmes, workshops, and resources that inspire others and align with strategic priorities. Key skills:
- Expert facilitation skills and the ability to bring professionals and leaders together to solve wicked problems
- Skilled in developing and delivering engaging programmes, workshops and resources.
- Solutions-focussed and a strong commitment to further and higher education
