Peeblesshire Foodbank is an independent charity operating in the Peeblesshire area. We have a strong association with Trussell, the UK’s leading charity in working to reduce poverty.
We wish to recruit for the post of Engagement Officer which plays a key role in researching the key drivers of poverty in our local area and works with local groups, third-sector and statutory organisations, and local and national elected members, with a view to reducing poverty and ending the need for foodbanks.
Key responsibilities of the post include: the developing and delivery of local influencing strategies and nurturing networking and joint-working opportunities among other agencies working within the field of poverty and deprivation. The Engagement Officer will be the link between Peeblesshire Foodbank and the Organising and Local Mobilisation team at Trussell.
Applications for this exciting post are invited from those with experience of campaigning and/or organising effective change, managing and working with volunteers, community outreach. In addition, you will need good project management skills, the ability to balance a range of priorities, have excellent communication skills, and the ability to seek and balance a range of views of stakeholders.
