Role

Calman Trust is a charity that works with disadvantaged and vulnerable young people (14 to 25 years old) who need support and learning to progress towards independent living and employment. Our mission is to improve the prospects of the young people we work with by providing appropriate support, training and work opportunities so they become resilient, healthy, contributing and independent adults.

Calman Trust seeks a Café Trainer to support disadvantaged young people in gaining employment readiness and hospitality skills through hands-on training at Café Artysans in Inverness. This role combines practical café work with personalised learning and wellbeing support to empower young people towards independence and employment.

You are expected to create a welcoming learning environment, design tailored training activities, supports individuals towards personal goals, and collaborates with colleagues to provide on-the-job experience.

You should be confident in cooking, potentially with experience in the hospitality sector, together with an understanding of good customer service. Experience in training or supporting others is essential as is being patience, understanding, and having the ability to create an empowering learning environment for young people with diverse needs.

You will be solution-focused, adaptable, a supportive team player, organised, committed to continuous learning, and aligned with Calman Trust’s values and ethos.
