Role
Working at Homeless Network Scotland provides a unique vantage and an opportunity to be involved in major programmes addressing homelessness in Scotland. We are a small team that values commitment, flexibility and a sense of perspective. And we offer a supportive and enabling environment where you can bring all your skills – and maybe discover some new ones too.
You will join a small and highly motivated team of Staff and Associates, whose approach is highly collaborative, evidence-based and solutions-focused.
At the heart of our work is the platforms we provide for people with personal experience of homelessness – Homeless Network Scotland’s Associates. Your primary responsibility will be to enable and support Associates by providing coaching, building meaningful engagement and creating dynamic opportunities for them to shape policy, transform practices and challenge perceptions surrounding homelessness.

About the post
Our Employability Programme supports people to gain the required skills and experience to move towards employment, further education, training or volunteering. You will work as part of the wider FareShare Depot team to support individuals to engage in our employability programme and reach their full potential. Your main duties will involve:
• Delivering employability workshops to a wide range of participants
• Working 1-2-1 with participants to achieve successful outcomes
• Engage with organisations to promote our Employability programme and secure job opportunities for clients
• Continually monitor and evaluate the employability programme
About you
You will be a values-led individual who engages well with people and demonstrates enthusiasm and commitment. You should also be:
• Great at building relationships with partner organisations
• Excellent at planning and managing your own workload
How we’ll support you
We’ll empower you to work independently, with a supportive manager, and our experienced depot operations team. We will encourage you to use your initiative to deliver the programme, innovate new activities and learn on the job.
You will have access to wider Cyrenians support, including our learning and development programme and staff wellbeing services.

Fundraising and Community Engagement Officer

Fresh Start provides support to people moving on from or those at risk of homelessness.
Since 1999 Fresh Start’s core mission has been supporting people to “make a home for themselves” as they move on from homelessness. Typically, people have been living in temporary accommodation and have been allocated unfurnished, poorly equipped or decorated local authority properties. Our services give people immediate support at a critical transition point in their lives and provide longer term support enabling them to sustain their new tenancies and settle in their new community. Over the last 5 years our work has developed further to incorporate services focusing on the prevention of homelessness through tackling poverty and inequality.
Our 4 areas of focus cover:
(1) Move-In support services: a collection of services supporting people transitioning from homelessness and temporary accommodation.
(2) Empowerment and Poverty Prevention Services which support people develop skills, knowledge and social network so that they are better equipped to deal with the issues and difficulties they face.
(3) Food Support Services which respond to the current food crisis faced by many in Edinburgh and allow individuals and families to access food in a dignified manner.
(4) People-led, Place-based Community Development through Fresh Start leading role and involvement in key policy making groups and in pushing for system change through learning.
We’re looking for an enthusiastic, proactive and self-driven Fundraising and Community Engagement Officer to help grow income and engagement from individuals, community groups, and local supporters.
Working as part of a small, dynamic fundraising & com team, you will deliver campaigns, fundraising events, and donor stewardship activities that reflects Fresh Start’s values and impact. This is a hands-on, operational role within a small and supportive team — ideal for someone looking to develop further their career in community fundraising.

The successful candidate will build on the strong foundations of participatory practice that have been established at CELCIS and will have an opportunity to shape the role and develop CELCIS’s work into new areas.
Leading our strategic approach to embed the voices and experiences of children and families, our Participation Practice Lead will work with our experienced, multidisciplinary teams across CELCIS and work in partnership with organisations and the children’s services workforce across Scotland and beyond.
While this is a strategic role, it is also about sharing good practice to equip and enable colleagues and stakeholders. In this role, you’ll support the workforce and leaders to create readiness and build the confidence, skills, and culture needed to involve people with lived experience in safe, ethical, and meaningful ways. You’ll design and facilitate reflective learning spaces, co-production activities, and inclusive activities that are trauma-informed and rights-based.
We’re looking for someone who brings integrity and a deep understanding of this work, someone who has “walked the walk” in social work, youth work, or a related field and is passionate about creating the conditions where children, young people, and families are truly seen, heard, and valued.
You’ll be a trusted facilitator, a credible leader, and a passionate advocate for children’s rights and wellbeing, helping to turn insight into impact, and experience into evidence for change.

You’ll also have experience of developing the relationships and networks to influence policy at the local or national level in Scotland. And you’ll be someone who can lead and manage a small team working to deliver real change.
