Role

Elpis Trust provides accommodation and support to 19 young women, aged 16-25, in North-West Glasgow who are Care Experienced, have been affected by homelessness, or have been Unaccompanied Asylum Seekers.

Our dedicated staff team provide young women with life skills, a focus on wellbeing and mental health support to help them transition to independence once they are ready to leave our supported accommodation.

We work closely with Glasgow City Council, Glasgow Health and Social Care Partnership, Maryhill Housing Association - and funders including Bank of Scotland Foundation and The Robertson Trust - to really make a difference to the lives of our young women.

Due to the retirement of our Treasurer, we are seeking a new trustee to be the treasurer to provide oversight of Elpis’s financial health, ensure viability and maintain sound financial records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Chair the Finance sub-committee that meets 6 times per year
  • Provide finance reports to the Board at 5 meetings per year
  • Oversee budgeting provision
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations
  • Guiding financial decisions and planning

Skills and Experience:

Essential Qualifications

  • We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a strong understanding of financial management and experience with accounting knowledge

This is a role with an honorarium and the estimated commitment is 6-8 hours per month to attend Board meetings, Finance sub-committee meetings and carry out other duties.
