Role

About the Organisation

Pregnancy Counselling and Care (Scotland) is a small but impactful Edinburgh-based charity dedicated to ensuring no one faces pregnancy, loss, or early parenthood alone. We provide both practical and emotional support at times when it is needed most.

Our Vision: Nobody is left alone to struggle with pregnancy, loss or early parenthood.

Our Mission: To support families and individuals during pregnancy, early parenthood, or times of loss, with compassion and care.

We deliver this through two key services:

  • Counselling Service – offering professional counselling for anyone affected by pregnancy, childbirth, baby loss, miscarriage, termination, stillbirth or infertility.
  • Baby Bank – providing essential baby equipment, clothing and toys to families experiencing poverty.

Our Values:

Respect • Compassion • Inclusiveness • Collaboration • Dependability • Flexibility

About The Role

Our Baby Bank has grown rapidly in recent years, reflecting both the rising need in our community and the incredible generosity of our supporters. After 18 months at the Gyle Shopping Centre - where the visibility helped us connect with new donors and volunteers, we have now moved into a larger, permanent home just across the road in a vibrant third-sector hub.

This new space brings our Baby Bank and Counselling Service under one roof, giving us the capacity to welcome more donations, build a stronger community of volunteers and ultimately support more families in need.

To make the most of this exciting new chapter, we’re looking for an enthusiastic, organised, and welcoming individual to join our Baby Bank staff team. Working alongside two part-time colleagues, you will play a key role in strengthening the foundations of our service—particularly through:

  1. Recruiting, training and supporting individual volunteers
  2. Attracting and supporting groups of corporate volunteers, in partnership with our Community Fundraiser

If you’re someone who thrives on building relationships, inspiring voluntary action, and helping volunteers feel valued and confident, this is a chance to be at the heart of a small but passionate charity. Every day, you’ll see the real difference your work makes, helping ensure families across Edinburgh and the Lothians have the support they need as they begin their journey into parenthood.

We Believe in Inclusivity

We welcome applications from people from all sections of the community irrespective of race, colour, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, religion or belief.
