We’re currently recruiting for a Project Manager to join our team and help shape the future of care for some of Scotland’s most marginalised communities.

MECOPP is Scotland’s leading Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) carers’ organisation, providing a wide range of care and support services to carers and cared-for people from minority ethnic and other marginalised communities.

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to assume lead responsibility for all aspects of operational delivery and the successful conclusion of designated projects. Key responsibilities will include work planning, budget oversight, risk mitigation, reporting and staff management. The current project ‘portfolio’ includes delivery of a Heritage Lottery Funded project and a short breaks/respite project for carers and cared for people. As projects will vary throughout the course of the role, the postholder must demonstrate strong project management skills transferable across a range of different projects/funders.

You will work within the wider MECOPP Gypsy/Traveller service to increase and improve opportunities for male Gypsy/Travellers to make their views known to policy makers and service providers. You will have experience of engaging with communities which experience discrimination and be committed to community empowerment.

Another Way

We are looking for candidates who have experience of working with women with complex social needs. You will be working as part of Another Way, a service that works with women involved in or at risk of selling or exchanging sex. The role will have a focus on providing outreach to women who are street-based and working indoors, as well as providing one-to-one support.

You must have experience of providing assertive outreach to ‘hard-to-reach’ groups, as well as an excellent understanding of the support needs of women involved in the transactional sex. You will need to be an effective communicator, highly organised and have effective casework management skills. It is essential that support provided is non-judgmental and respects the wishes of the women we engage with.

You will work closely with other partners and agencies and be expected to ensure the continued development of good partnership working. Experience of working with women involved in transactional sex is desirable.

Membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme is a requirement this post.
