Vintage Vibes is a multi-award-winning charity (SCIO SC054011) tackling loneliness and isolation in over 60s across Edinburgh. Since 2015, we’ve created hundreds of lasting friendships between older people (our VIPs) and volunteers of all ages, transforming lives and communities in every postcode.
This year, we’ve stepped into an exciting new phase: becoming an independent charity after almost a decade of impact within a charitable partnership been LifeCare and Space @ Broomhouse Hub.
We're proud of our roots and full of ambition for our future. We're looking for new volunteer trustees to help us build strong foundations and dream big. Could you join our team?
What does a trustee do?
As a trustee, you'll help us make good decisions, keep our work aligned with our values, and support the organisation to grow with care. At Vintage Vibes, that means:
- Strategy – Thinking big and thinking forward - You will support the team in consulting on, developing and delivering our 2026-2031 Strategy to carry out our mission.
- Governance – Offering your skills and experience to collaborate as a board to ensure the charity is compliant with our governance and charity law requirements.
- Risk – You will be the critical friend that helps the charity to assess, understand and embrace health risk within the operations and planning of the organisation.
- Approach - Bringing a positive, down-to-earth, fair approach to conversations and building relationships based on trust, transparency and collaboration.
Our Board of Trustees has two Sub Groups:
- Governance and Good Practice Group
- Finance, Fundraising and Future Group
We're looking for amazing people to join us who are excited by opportunity, who’ve helped projects or organisations thrive sustainably, and who believe that connection, kindness and creativity are just as important as structure, systems and spreadsheets.
In the next 18 months, we’ll be focusing on:
- Building strong foundations — From reviewing policies to increasing our visibility and embedding good governance as a new independent charity
- Developing a bold new strategy — We’ll be consulting with our community and designing our 2026–2031 Strategy and Plan
- Growing our income — We're ambitious about finding the right partners and opportunities to help us thrive long term
If you have experience in areas like income generation, fundraising, HR, enterprise, legal structures, or managing organisational change — we’d also love to hear from you.
What’s it like to be on our board?
Our meetings are structured and focused, but we keep things human.
We value honesty, warmth, and good humour. You'll find a collaborative space where you can share ideas, learn, and contribute without pressure to be perfect.
Whether you’re a seasoned trustee or have never been on a board before, we’ll support you with a full induction, training, and a 6-month buddy system with an existing trustee to help you settle in and grow your confidence.
We welcome trustees of all backgrounds and identities, and especially encourage people who haven’t seen themselves in this type of role before. If you're values-led, excited by growth, and keen to contribute, we’ll support you every step of the way.
Time commitment:
4-6 meetings a year plus 2 days of volunteering per year across 1 x Away Day, 1 x 0.5 Day Event and 1 x 0.5 Day Getting to Know the Community Activity per year. Outside of this you will be required to respond to semi regular emails, and join a bimonthly online call for one Sub Group. We work hard to ensure that our trustees time is used efficiently and respectfully.

Join Our Board as Treasurer / Trustee and Contribute Your Financial Expertise
Are you an experienced finance professional looking to make a meaningful contribution to the lives of older people and their families? We are currently seeking a skilled individual to act as the Treasurer on our Board of Trustees. If you possess financial expertise and our organisation’s mission resonates with you, we invite you to apply for this important role.
Why Become Our Treasurer?
As Treasurer, you will play a crucial role in overseeing our finances, ensuring financial health, and supporting our mission to reduce loneliness and isolation, and promote physical and cognitive wellbeing for older people; and provide respite for their families and carers in South Edinburgh. Key Responsibilities:
- High-level Financial Oversight: Review financial reports and monitor the organisation’s financial stability
- Board Communication: Keep the board informed about financial matters and update them of the organisation’s financial health
- Budget Oversight: Provide oversight and input to the annual budgeting process
- Annual Statutory Accounts: Assist in the preparation, review and approval of the annual statutory accounts
- Flagging Issues: The Treasurer should be capable of identifying and isolating financial issues, even if they are minor, and raising flags when necessary
What We’re Looking For:
- Experienced Professional: Ideally with a career background as a Financial Director or Financial Controller or similar (e.g. financial services)
- Confident Communicator: Able to inspire confidence, provide reassurance and communicate financial matters clearly to fellow Board members whose strengths may not include numeracy
- Strategic Thinker: Someone who can provide high-level oversight and has a keen eye for detail
- Familiarity with Charity Finance: Understanding of charity finance issues and governance, though specific software experience (e.g., XERO) is not required

We are recruiting a Trustee - Treasurer (Volunteer) to the Board of Hebridean Pursuits Outdoor Learning (HPOL)
Who we are
HPOL is an Oban based charity that provides real outdoor adventures for young people to help them grow and achieve more than they thought possible whatever their background. Established in 1991 (Roses Charitable Trust) we have a long and successful history of working with young people. HPOL is a registered SCIO - SC049755.
What do we do
We deliver residential courses, primarily in the West Coast of Scotland, for groups of young people from across the UK. We also deliver day and multi-day adventures for groups of young people primarily from our community in Argyll. We also provide Coasteering certification and technical training and guiding on a bespoke basis.
We have one full time Course Director that leads in all aspects of the design and delivery of our outdoor activities. In addition, we have a part-time (3/5s) Finance & Administration Lead that has overall responsibility for the operations supporting the delivery of our courses and the charity.
Our Board
We currently have 8 trustees which include a chair and a treasurer. Our trustees come from a variety of professional backgrounds and are based across the UK.
Our current treasurer has been a trustee and treasurer for 14 years and plans to retire from his post in September 2025 at our AGM.
Our organisation is small, and so our trustees are involved in the management of the charity bringing their expertise to bear as required.
Our Board meets 4 times a year - mostly in Oban.
The Role
We are seeking to appoint a new trustee treasurer - someone with financial management skills, a passion for the outdoors, and shared determination to improve the lives of young people regardless of their background. The role is on a volunteer basis with an expected time commitment of 1 to 2 days per month.

About MECOPP
MECOPP (Minority Ethnic Carers of People Project) is Scotland’s leading Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) carers organisation. Since 2000, we have supported carers from minority ethnic and other marginalised communities who experience disadvantage due to one or more protected characteristics.
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking three new Board Members to help guide and support our next phase of growth and strategic development.
- As a Board Member, you will:
- Attend 4–6 meetings per year
- Act as an ambassador for MECOPP
- Provide advice and support to staff
- Help ensure good governance and oversight

As a registered Scottish charity and registered social landlord, we are a leading housing and care provider in Scotland, specialising in services for people with disabilities. Founded in 1972 by Dr Margaret Blackwood, the organisation is entirely focused on creating personalised and individual solutions to help people live fully and independently. We provide warm, safe, comfortable homes and care and support for adults with physical disabilities, long term conditions, sensory impairment and learning disabilities.
We are seeking up to three other Board Members to help us deliver our strategic objectives to deliver good outcomes for our customers. Specifically, we are looking to further strengthen our board with new members with experience and skills in:
• Financial management
• Care services
• Housing and Asset Management
Our Board meets 5 times a year and Board Members will also be required to attend additional Committee meetings, and two Strategy Days. Most meetings take place in the early evening, with a mix of in person and remote attendance. Our Head office is in Edinburgh. Full induction and on-going training and development support will be provided.
All Board Members are reimbursed for out-of-pocket expenses including travel.
