Shape the Future of Home Care in Rural Perthshire

About the Role:

Join a forward-thinking social enterprise delivering vital care services in rural communities

We are excited to announce an opportunity join us as one of six Trustees of a new community-led social enterprise. This is a voluntary role, offering the opportunity to be part of an innovative and impactful organisation that aims to transform rural care services.

This innovative initiative, developed in collaboration with the Perth and Kinross Health and Social Care Partnership and the communities of Rannoch and Tummel and Dunkeld and Birnam, aims to deliver care at home and other social care services in North Perthshire. Our primary focus is to support people living in our remote, rural communities.

As a Trustee, you will play a key role in developing the strategy and supporting our CEO/Home Care Manager in establishing and growing the organisation. You will be part of a committed Board, building on a foundation of strong planning, community support and an innovative care model. The organisation’s success will be measured by its ability to:

  • Improve access to care at home for people in remote, rural areas.
  • Implement a client-centred care model that actively engages community resources and volunteer-led services.
  • Achieve financial sustainability within three years through business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Shape and guide the strategic direction of the organisation, ensuring it meets its charitable objectives.
  • Oversee compliance with legal, regulatory, and financial requirements, maintaining high standards of governance.
  • Support the CEO/Home Care Manager in building the executive team and developing partnerships.
  • Monitor the organisation’s performance and ensure sound financial management and sustainability.

Are you the right fit?

We are looking for individuals with experience in areas such as business start-up/development, commissioning, HR, finance, social care policy, or fundraising. You will have a passion for improving health and wellbeing in rural communities. Previous experience as a Trustee is welcome but not essential.

We warmly welcome applications from members of our community, who bring an understanding of some of the challenges faced by our local population, and from further afield, from those who similarly appreciate the difficulties faced by rural, remote communities in securing equality of access to social care services.
