About the Walled Garden

The Walled Garden is one of Cyrenians public facing services, where we support people on Community Payback Orders to put back into the community and develop their own horticultural skills. Set within Dollar Park, Falkirk the garden is highly valued by the community, and is a home for events, volunteering and enjoying the tranquillity it has to offer.

About the role

As Community Gardener you’ll contribute to developing a creative and interactive garden. Your main responsibilities include:

• Designing a year-round plan for the Walled Garden

• Contributing to the growth and maintenance of the garden

• Supporting individuals on Community Payback Orders to engage with gardening related tasks

About you

You’ll be an experienced gardener with a genuine interest in people, gardening and working outdoors. You should also be:

• Experienced in seasonal garden maintenance

• Excellent at building trusted relationships

• Confident leading and motivating others

Gateway is looking to recruit two new Board Members.

Gateway is one of the leading charitable organisations in Highland, providing a diverse range of services in Inverness City, Easter Ross and Wester Ross.

We provide services for vulnerable adults including Care at Home, Community Housing Support, and supported accommodation.

We are looking to recruit an additional two Board members to join our experienced team of Directors. This is an exciting time for Gateway and members find their work rewarding in so many ways.

As a Director, you will play a crucial role in guiding our organisation through developing the strategy, ensuring we uphold our values and achieve our mission, and making a tangible and positive impact on people’s lives. Our Directors are critical friends whilst providing the senior team with constructive challenge.

We are specifically looking to appoint members based on demonstrable experience and skills in one or more of the following areas:

• Legal and Risk Management;
• Healthcare/Social Care Experience;
• Financial;
• Fundraising.

Your expertise in any of these areas will be invaluable in steering our strategic direction and maintaining robust governance.

Being a Chairty this is a voluntary position, however travel expenses to meetings would be paid.

Board meetings are held quarterly, lasting approximately two hours, and are normally held on a Monday during working hours. These meetings are held in person at our Head Office in Inverness, although we can accommodate a hybrid arrangement to meet the suitable person’s needs.

About Social Bite Village

Founded by Social Bite who partnered with Cyrenians to provide the support, the village provides temporary, supported accommodation to people who have become homeless. The village provides a home as well as the opportunity to participate in shared activities and opportunities. Our Community model is based on Cyrenians core values, prioritising trusted relationships and putting the person at the heart of the decisions which matter most to them.

About the role

Our keyworker will work as part of a team, and the wider social bite partnership, to ensure the village is a homely, welcoming and safe space. Your main responsibilities include:

• Working with residents to develop their own support plan

• Supporting residents to be active in the day-to-day activity of the village, including decision making

• Provide support and supervision to volunteers

About You

As a committed, compassionate and reliable member of the team, you’ll be able to develop trusted relationships with those we support and with your colleagues. You should also be:

• Experienced in delivering person-centred support

• A strong communicator with experience of working collaboratively

• A calm and encouraging presence, able to work at the pace of the individual

Our long-term vision is to end youth homelessness, our more immediate mission is to ensure that every young person in Scotland has access to expert youth specific services to assist them to avoid, survive and move on from homelessness.

Working as part of our innovative Housing First for Youth Team, The Project Worker will work directly with young people to coordinate and provide emotional and practical support. Providing an assertive outreach approach the Project Worker will Work with young people to secure and manage their own permanent home, providing support in their home and in their local community to ensure that a young person’s experience of homelessness is rare, brief, and non-recurring.

The Project Worker will support young people to improve their practical independent living skills, access other services and to reach their full potential. Project Workers are responsible for completing support plans and risk assessments and are the main contact for any key people involved in the care and support of young people.
