Role

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated peer support coordinator to lead our Ruby Boots Service which supports children and young people transitioning from forces to civilian life.

Working face to face with children and young people, adult volunteers, and key partners you will coproduce effective peer support services in the Fife and Edinburgh areas.

You will recruit, train, and develop the skills of young people who have already transitioned to civilian life to support their peers in their journey.

Partnership work with schools, community services, and the military sector is key to this project’s delivery of an effective service.

About the person we’re looking for:

  • Professional graduate level qualification and/or equivalent experience working in a relevant field e.g., health, education, social care, community education, etc.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience of working in youth work, community work or education.
  • Experience of working directly with volunteers and vulnerable children and young people.
  • Experience of using volunteering, befriending or mentoring models.
  • Experience of successfully mobilising new projects.
